Frequently Asked Questions
How long will an assessment take with my child?
Generally it takes 45 minutes to 60 minutes.
How do I prepare my child for assessment?
Depending on your child's needs, I am able to send resources to support your child's understanding of what to expect during my visit. (Please request this at the time of booking if you think it would be beneficial).
After assessment, when shall I expect a written report?
If you purchased a written clinical report, you can expect the report to be with you in 10 working days. Via Email (PDF).
Should I tell my child's School or Nursery?
It is crucial to include the education team that has been supporting your child, as this is beneficial for consistency and information gathering and sharing. They can email me regarding the child, with your consent, so we can work toward a common goal.
Does my child need to have an assessment?
Yes. This is the foundation for future work and to identify the needs of the child and parent. This is also really helpful for parents that want to get a much better understanding of their child's needs.
What if I need to cancel an appointment?
You can reschedule your appointment with 48hours' notice with no cancellation fee. However, if it is less than 48 hours, due to my preparation times, I charge a £50 cancellation fee. Contact me to cancel any appointment.
Where do the sessions and assessments take place?
The assessments are done at your child's (family) home, because this gives me insight into their surroundings and helps your child to feel at ease. Depending on your child's ability & space at home, sessions can either be held at your own home or at the Hub in Worcester Park. This can be discussed after the assessment.
