Why Neuro Parent Path Exists

Neuro Parent Path was founded to offer the depth of support that neurodivergent children and their families deserve. Support that goes beyond traditional models and honours the complexity of sensory, emotional, and developmental needs.

After many years in the NHS, I recognised that families needed a more flexible, bespoke, and attuned approach. This practice is the answer to that need. A specialist consultancy where occupational therapy, parent coaching, holistic therapies, and expert sensory and developmental training are delivered through a nurturing, evidence-based and supportive approach.

Guiding families with knowledge, experience and heart.

Qigong and Sound Healing

How Qigong and Sound Therapy Can Work with Occupational Therapy

As an Occupational Therapist, I am passionate about supporting the whole child. Alongside evidence-informed occupational therapy, I may incorporate complementary wellbeing practices such as Qigong and Sound Therapy where they are appropriate for your child's individual needs, interests and sensory profile.

These gentle approaches are designed to complement, rather than replace, occupational therapy by helping children feel calmer, more regulated and better prepared to participate in meaningful everyday activities.

Children's Qigong

Qigong is a gentle practice that combines mindful movement, breathing and body awareness. Activities are adapted to each child's age and abilities, using playful and engaging exercises that encourage children to connect with their bodies positively and enjoyably.

When integrated into occupational therapy, Qigong helps children to:

  • Develop greater body awareness and coordination.

  • Improve balance, posture and movement planning.

  • Practise mindful breathing to support self-regulation.

  • Increase concentration and attention during everyday activities.

  • Reduce feelings of stress or overwhelm through gentle movement.

  • Build confidence, emotional resilience and self-awareness.

  • Support participation in school, play and daily routines.

Therapeutic Breathwork

Simple breathing techniques can become valuable self-regulation tools that children learn to use both during therapy sessions and in everyday life.

Breathwork helps children to:

  • Feel calmer during times of anxiety or overwhelm.

  • aImprove attention and readiness for learning.

  • Support smoother transitions between activities.

  • Strengthen emotional regulation skills through regular practice.

Sound Therapy

Sound Therapy uses carefully selected soothing sounds and therapeutic instruments to create a calm and supportive environment. Sessions are always tailored to your child's individual sensory preferences, recognising that every child experiences sound differently. I am fully qualified in Sound Healing

Within Occupational Therapy, Sound Therapy Continues to:

  • Encourage relaxation before therapeutic activities.

  • Help create an environment where children feel safe and settled.

  • Support emotional wellbeing through calming sensory experiences.

  • Encourage mindfulness, body awareness and quiet reflection.

  • Complement sensory regulation strategies already being used within therapy.

  • Promote engagement and participation for children who benefit from predictable sensory experiences.

A Holistic, Child-Centred Approach

Occupational Therapy is about enabling children to participate confidently in the activities that matter most to them. By thoughtfully combining evidence-informed occupational therapy with complementary approaches such as Qigong, therapeutic breathwork and Sound Therapy, I aim to support not only your child's physical and sensory development, but also their emotional wellbeing, confidence and ability to engage more fully in everyday life.

Every child is unique, which is why all therapeutic activities are carefully selected and personalised to meet your child's individual goals, strengths and needs.
